Mesha Powell

Hello, my name is Mesha, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University, with a clinical concentration. My passion lies in supporting two intersecting populations: mothers navigating the challenges of traumatic birth experiences or maternal mental health concerns, and young adults transitioning into parenthood or independent adulthood.

My clinical focus is on individuals experiencing vulnerable and transitional life stages. I am particularly drawn to working with mothers facing postpartum depression, anxiety, or birth-related trauma, as well as young adults managing the emotional, financial, and psychological demands of early adulthood. These individuals often encounter barriers to care, limited support, and the weight of stigma-factors that can significantly impact their well-being.

I am committed to providing compassionate, culturally competent, and client-centered care. I bring empathy, professionalism, and a grounded presence to the therapeutic space and aim to support each client in navigating complex emotions, developing effective coping strategies, and reclaiming a sense of self love in their lives.
